Fall Clean Up around the House
The weather’s cooling down a bit and you’re thinking of how great it feels outside. While you’re out there enjoying the beautiful temperature, how about taking a stroll around your yard to see if anything needs to be repaired or cleaned up? Lately the weather has been a bit unpredictable – there is no such thing as a nice rainstorm anymore. Now, every storm comes at full speed packing a huge punch. You will want to be sure your home and property are at their best shape before that next wild weather hits.
Fall is a great time to get all those tasks done: cleaning the gutters, fixing cracks in the driveway, repainting the storm doors, etc. Get them done now and you’ll be able to enjoy the rest of football season in peace.
Cleaning your gutters isn’t as bad as it seems. All you need is a ladder and some work gloves. Get on up there and just start pulling stuff out. Throw it down to the ground and worry about that part later. Just make sure the gutters are free of debris so that water can drain properly away from the house’s foundation. Once you’re done cleaning out the gutters, rake up all the stuff that came out and dispose of it. You will be happy you did when you don’t have a flooded basement during the next big storm.
Check for cracks along the foundation of your home. If you see any, have them evaluated by a professional to see how they will need fixed. Sometimes, they are just superficial and need only a coat of cement over the crack. Other times, they could be more serious and need intensive repair. Have them fixed now before they get too big. When you are finished doing your fall clean up, you will enjoy that game much more knowing your home is safe and secure.
