It’s close to that time of the year when many people choose to ring in the New Year by making resolutions. Some make several resolutions in the hopes of keeping at least some of them. Statistics show that 47% make resolutions concerning education or self-improvement, 38% related to weight, 34% address money and 31% involve relationships. 1. Lose Weight. Many health-related issues stem from being overweight. You can greatly improve your overall health and life expectancy by keeping your weight at a healthy level.
2. Quit Smoking. As the package says, cigarettes are dangerous to your health and the health of those around you. You can greatly reduce your chances of heart disease, cancer and other health problems by no longer smoking.
3. Get a Better Education. This is an excellent idea. Consider studying something specialized that will lead you directly into a job market that pays better.
4. Manage Debt. Consolidate your high interest credit cards and start learning to live within your means. This will reduce yours levels of stress.
5. Exercise. Getting into a daily routine of some sort of exercise is good for your overall well-being. Instead of being worn out from walking to the mailbox, you will be able to enjoy a nice walk around the block with your grateful dog.
6. Get a Better Job. If you’ve been with your company a long time, this may be the right time to ask about that promotion. Applying elsewhere is also an option.
7. Volunteer. Take some time away from the TV and volunteer your time to a worthwhile organization. It’s very rewarding.
