3 Halloween Goods to Bake
Halloween is a time when everyone is craving sweets. Something that can be fun is if the entire family gets together and bakes some seasonal treats. You should try baking these three Halloween goodies.
- Witch or Zombie Fingers: These simple witch or zombie fingers are tasty and simple. Prepare your favorite prepackaged cookie dough according to the instructions on the box. Form the dough into logs the same length as a finger. Use a knife to draw lines on the top to indicate the joints. Place an almond sliver on the end to be the fingernail. Bake the cookies until they are done. Finish by dipping the end of the fingers in cherry or strawberry jam to make them look like they were severed.
- Spooky Spider Cupcakes: These treats look like black spiders complete with red eyes and legs. Start by making a chocolate cupcake batter. Pour the batter into a cupcake tin and bake until done. Mix butter cream or another icing with black food coloring and apply to the top. Alternately, you could use black sanding sugar. Place two red jellybeans on the cupcakes to make eyes. Use candy corn or marshmallows cut into wedges for the fangs. Use strings of black licorice to make the legs. Arrange the legs so that they hang over the side to make it look like the spider cupcakes are actually standing up on their own.
- Halloween Eyeballs: These treats look like real eyeballs but they taste like a frosted donut. Begin by making a typical donut batter. Shape the batter into spheres and bake them until browned on the outside and fully cooked inside. Melt some white chocolate in a pan. Dip the cooled donut holes into the white chocolate until they are fully coated. Add some food coloring to the white chocolate and dip in just a small part of the donut holes after the first coating has dried. This makes the iris and pupil. If you want them to be spookier, then use a toothpick and red food coloring to draw veins around the eye.
