Camp Rise Above

Sam Schirmer Insurance Agency is dedicated to serving the community through many different volunteer events and sponsorships. One of our favorite programs to volunteer with is Camp Rise Above! This non-profit organization allows children who have serious illnesses, life challenges, and disabilities to enjoy a camp experience they wouldn’t be able to experience otherwise. These children, who are all too often unable to participate in the simple joys of childhood, are allowed to experience all the fun camp can offer with other children who are going through the same struggles.

For three days, we volunteer and partner one-on-one with children to help them get the most out of the camp experience! Volunteers lead the children through fun outdoor activities, crafts, and games! Each week of camp throughout the summer is specifically designed to cater to the particular needs of children with different illnesses and disabilities. As the only camp of this type in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, it is a wonderful experience to get to help these children who are local to our community!
